AI (Adobe Illustrator) Vector Images

 

Nowadays there are Ai (Adobe Illustrator vector) images that can be expanded almost infinitely and not lose their high resolution.  The image of Santa sipping coffee is an example of an AI image.  These types of files are truly versatile, and very cool to work with.

 

Below is our feature image expanded.   You can see how the resolution does not change even as we zoom in.  Think of how you could manipulate these AI files when creating a Christmas newsletter or illustrating some stories for your kids.

There are 50 AI images in our package.  Everything from Santa in various poses, to Christmas cat and dogs and angels.

The other images are jpegs, which can be expanded and manipulated, but do lose their crispness when expanding.  For most folks the difference won’t be impactful, but for the odd adventurous experimenter, the option will be there to try out your new skills and AI Christmas images!

As our site has a vintage focus, it is no surprise that we celebrate the Old Tyme illustrations.  Some of our favorites are the Christmas cards cerca 1950s.  After all, that is when we were kids.  I like the older illustrations too.  It is very informative to see how artistic impressions have changed over time.

How cool is that nowadays those old cards and all of the surviving artwork can be scanned, digitized and manipulated via some program into art that can be shared and enjoyed by all a hundred years later!
